Sophie Georgeson

Psychologist (She/They)

I'm a warm, compassionate, and authentic psychologist and work collaboratively and transparently, with nonjudgmental validation and empathy. I aim to work together to build a sense of agency with people in a way that is evidence-based, client-centred and trauma-informed. I always strive to be safe and affirming of experiences as part of LGBTQIA+ communities, neurodivergent communities, or particular to cultural, religious, or spiritual background.

I can help support you with:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Trauma
  • Depression
  • Big emotions
  • Difficulties relating to body image and food
  • Life changes
  • Coping with chronic health conditions
  • Relationships and communication
  • Grief/loss
  • Identity and meaning challenges
  • Learning difficulties
  • Neurodivergence

I use evidence-based approaches informed by attachment, Acceptance and
Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Individual Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural
Therapy, Narrative Therapy, biopsychology, and mindfulness. I adapt to what a
person needs, and take feedback as we go on comfortability. I take an anti-
oppressive intersectional approach informed by my experiences in the justice and
education sectors, and by the social model of disability.
